genuine maori carvings

hi visiting rotorua in 2 weeks and would like to buy some genuine maori artwork - when i was in nz last year only in south island i found that most of these were comerrical produced and not genuine from maori people - so

where would the best place to buy these be???

I would recommend that you visit the NZ Maori Arts and Crafts Institute id you want the genuine article. Whilst there you can also visit the termal arae behind the Institute.

And you can actually visit the workshop there & watch the artists at work. It's a great place!
