It is a little bit different for licensing laws on Good Friday & Easter Sunday - essentially alcohol isn't allowed to be sold on those days, but I believe many pubs get around this law if they are serving food aswell.

Exactly how the law is interpreted will vary from town to town.

many restuarants will charge a surcharge on top of their advertised charges on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The surcharge is to cover their extra costs to provide service to you on those days as they must pay their staf 1.5 times wages plus pay them for anther day on which they will take their holiday.

The choice is yours, if you do not want to pay the surcharge, then make alternative arrangements for dining. always ask about surcharges before buying anything on those days.
