Road user charges for diesel camper vans

I know that diesel is less expensive at the pump than petrol, and that RUCs are charged differently.

Are they typically included in the daily rate for the camper or assessed (at the end of the trip?) separately. Just trying to budget and have no surprises.

Thanks

Check with the company. The road user diesel miles have to be paid in advance and displayed on vehicle. We were horrified when we discovered part way through our trip with a campervans we hired, that the road user had expired a few hundred kms back. We figured it wasnt our job to purchase these.

Which rental agency are you using? The RUC will be discussed on the website, possibly in the FAQs.

Road user charges are normally included in the hire price of campervans. When you consider the high daily hire rates of these vehicles they should not be charging for the extra diesel road user charges.
