I'm visiting New Zealand in November and am trying to finalize my itinerary (already revised it based on great feedback here). I think this is finally where we're landing (after removing the East Cape and a couple of other spots).
Does this sound doable, and is there anything we should reconsider seeing? Many thanks
Day 2: Christchurch Cathedral
Day 3: Depart for Lake Tekapo (~3.5 hrs). Church of the Good Shepard. Stargazing tour.
Days 5-7: Routeburn. Arrange for car transport. Overnight in Te Anau.
Day 8: Milford or Doubtful Sound cruise (departs around 10:30). Drive to Wanaka (~4-5 hrs).
Day 10: Glacier heli-hike. Drive to Blackball.
Day 12-14: Abel Tasman, sea kayaking, sand dunes, Farewell Spit (3 full days enough for this?)
Day 15: Drive to Nelson (~ 1 hr). Look around wine country? Overnight.
Day 16: Arrive Wellington via ferry.
Day 17: Te Papa, Cuba Street
Day 18: Biking
Day 19: Drive to Whakapapa
Day 20: Tongariro Alpine Crossing
Day 21: Drive to Taupo. Skydive
Day 23: White Island
Day 24: Drive to Waitomo
Day 25: Waitomo Caves
Day 26: Drive to Northland.
Day 27: Dive. Drive to Auckland
Day 28: Depart
