We will be in Taupo for a full day.

Is the following possible (travelling with a 6 and 10 year old). Aratiatia rapids viewing, rapid jet boat, huka falls walk/view followed by Orakei Korako thermal area?

What is the best order to do this in - I know that dam gates open a few times per day.

Hi bertiep,

I start at Orakei Korako while the morning is fresh and your children are eager and work from there.

Aratiatia rapids at 10 am, 12, 2pm 4 pm.

Orakei Korako is great but be aware some of the steps are hard on short legs.

Have you considered Wai-o-tapu ? Easier walking as is Waimungu.

To see the geyser you would need to be at Wai-o-tapu by 10am. It is about 45mins drive from Taupo.
