kerikeri to waipoua forest

Is it possible to go from Kerikeri (where we are staying) to Waipou Forest to do the evening guided walk and then drive back to where we are staying in Kerikeri? How long is the drive from Waipou forest and tane mahuta to Kerikeri anyway? Ta

Hi there

Its 1 hr 45 mins drive....

It depends what time of year you want to do the evening walk, as the timings are different depending on what time it gets dark.....

In the summer you could be looking at finishing the walk at 10, so it would be pretty late getting back.....

Check out this web site

http://footprintswaipoua.co.nz

Is this the tour or one of their tours that you are hoping to do????

It leaves from Opononi which Google maps show as 86 kms, one hour 5 minutes from Kerikeri.

They also have tour and accommodation packages.

I assumed that you were referring to the evening guided walk run from the Kauri Coast Top 10 holiday park - maybe you could clarify which of the guided walks you were planning on doing, as this may make a bit of a difference as to whether it is do-able to get back to Keikeri afterwards....
