The Crown Plaza on Albert Street is in the centre of the city two blocks from Queen Street.
Queen Street can get a bit rowdy late at night at the weekends but generally Auckland is regarded as a safe city and you should be fine. Albert street does not have many bars or restaurants so is quieter
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza last year - we were on an upper floor and noted how quiet it was.
You will be fine in that party of the city.
Have a good time
I think you'll be fine. Just stay away from the area around the City Mission in Hobson St. Probably not dangerous, but a lot of homeless characters hang around there.
