CBD via Sylvia Park to airport??

2 of us will be arriving mid May from Christchurch for a concert. Only staying overnight in the CBD so first day will be viaduct, central city maybe Devonport etc. before the concert at night.

Our plane leaves at 2pm the next day so wanted to visit Sylvia Park for some shopping before we leave. Will head there first thing on the Thursday morning so should get a couple of hours in at least!!

Some questions please:

Can we get the train to Sylvia Park from the city?

How much would the taxi fare be (approx) from SP to airport and how long would this take (early afternoon)?

Or - is there a better shopping mall which would make the transportation / transfers easier?

Here is the link to the train services from Britomart to Sylvia Park - http://www.sylviapark.org/getting-here

Depends on which taxi company you use, as to cost from the shopping mall to airport. A number of forum posters recommend Discount Cabs for cheaper fares.

Thanks for the info - really helpful.

Looks like getting to SP will be fine. Checked out the website for Discount Cabs and they charge $38 from SP ( Mt Wellington) to airport. Can't quite figure that out 'cos they only charge $35 from the city to the airport which is further isn't it???
