Under the Napier forum check out the top right hand side of the page - What To Do In Napier.

Also have a look at : http://www.napiernz.com

Wineries, Silky Oaks Chocolate factory/museum/café, gannet colony, weekend Farmers' Market, Classic Décor sheepskin factory tour and factory shop, as a starting point for you!

We loved the tractor trip to the gannet colony. Even more than the gannets, we enjoyed the ride along the beach - the guide was full of information about the geology of the area, which was very interesting. The cliffs have been pushed up at a tilt, so as you travel along the beach you are seeing further back into time.

We also found the museum there very good - it's a nice size to get around without getting overtired.

We enjoyed the wineries, and had a lovely lunch at the Mission Vineyard restaurant.

Also the Art Deco architecture - there are walking tours you can do, or just stroll around the central city streets by yourself.

Te Mata Peak is a good place for a panoramic view of the area, and there are wineries nearby.
