Rotorua Maori Experience

We are a large family group (13 people) only have a few hours at Rotorua (cruise ship passenger). We would like to see geyser, mineral lakes and experience some authentic Maori cultural performances. Can anyone please recommend places worth visiting?

Yes, Te Puia has the all-in-one package you are after. Also take a walk around Kuirau Park a view mud pools as well as the hot water lake (free). If you are interested in learning about how Rotorua developed into the city it is now, spend time at the museum in the old Bathhouse. Make sure you see the audio visual show on the eruption of Mt Tarawera.

www.rotoruaNZ.com lists many of the attractions in Rotorua. Unfortunately you will only manage to fit a few in. You could also check out www.maoriculture.com and see if Tamaki are putting on an early cultural show. They do sometimes and this usually allows cruise ship passengers to return to port before the cruise departs. Drive with care and have a fun time in the winner of N.Z.'s most beautiful city.
