Train services from Ohakune to Wellington

Is there a daily passenger train service from Ohakune to Wellington?

How long is the journey? What is the name of the train operator? Thank you.

It depends what time of the year you are travelling tom_ume. From late September until early May it is daily, during the winter only 3 days a week. It leaves Ohakune at 2pm, arrive Wellington 7.25pm. Make sure you get the right timetable, you need the Auckland to Wellington route, not the reverse.

The route and the train are called The Overlander and is part of a series of scenic routes through NZ run by NZRail, it's not your regular passenger service. more specific for tourists and visitors.
