Specialty Seafood Restaurant wanted in Wellingto please

Any suggestions for a very good seafood restaurant in Wellington (Just went to 'Fisherman's Table & despite its great location, the food on offer was ordinary.)

We would love somewhere that serves the green lip mussels & other local seafood please?

Many thanks :)

Very fancy (and very expensive) is Martin Bosleys and you also have Ortega Fish Shack, which has a very good reputation. If you are just after mussels you could go to Leuven on Featherston St. There you get a kilo of mussels for $20. Yummo.

Fisherman's Table is terrible, isn't it. I was really disappointed by the dried out, over-cooked fried fish on offer. Great location, such a pity! (The Sydney Morning Herald use to claim that you should never expect a great meal from any place that floats or rotates!!)

Love your "floats or rotates" comment, Zhuhai! :)

Will try Ortega Fish Shack next time we visit Wellington.

Had a superb feed of mussels at Leuven - thanks again for that one. Good atmosphere too.

Also had a lovely meal at Shed 5.

Great city ! Cheers, ELP.

Had amazing muscles recently (and I hardly ever eat then as they have to be spectacular for me) at Italian restaurant Nicolini's Italian Cafe Bar & Bistro, 26 Courtenay Place. I don't know if they're on the menu all the time or special order as we were treated to a special family style fest for a special occasion and also had baked fish as well. So call ahead if you will be disappointed if they're seasonal/special order!

Fantastic having a family style share meal I have to say. Ring ahead and am sure they can arrange it to suit for good sized parties. (We had 9 people).
