Intercontinental vs. Copthorne

I wonder which is the better hotel for us, a middle aged + couple, travelling in late November for 2 nights in Wellington. Which would be more practical if we plan to visit the Botanical Garden, Te Papa Museum, and if time, Parliament? We will not have a vehicle and are flying into and out of the city . Thank you.

The Intercontinental is more central than the Copthorne. It's right in the middle of the CBD and it's an easy 10 minute walk to your destinations (it's almost in the centre). Copthorne is on Oriental Bay, which while a very lovely location, is on the outskirts of the CBD. Probably a 40 minute walk to Parliament.

When you walk down through the gardens, you end up at Parliament. They run free tours on the hour.

Thank you. That is very helpful. I think that decides it for us!

Intercontinental is your best choice. look on Wotif.com and their own site to compare room rates.
