glacier hiking in the rain

is it worth doing a half day glacier hike in Franz Josef if its raining, or does the cold and wet make the experience miserable?

The guiding company always provide appropriate warm gear for venturing onto the ice. probably the only problem with rain, is also low cloud which reduces vizibility to see the tops, but you will get to see alot more then staying on the ground, as helicoptor flights will not be operating either. much of what you will experience and learn is the walk to the terminal face or with fox, to access the galcier part way up the glacier. as l;ong as you have a reasonable level of fitnes, then you will have no dificulty in ful enjoyment of the glacier. if there is a extremely heavt=y rain, then the half day hike would be cancelled if the rivers are too high, but the guiding company will advise you if it is still running
