Suggest a driving itinerary for July!

Hi all,

My fiance and i would like to travel to south new zealand in july. Can anybody please recommend us a 10 day driving itinerary? Hopefully maximum driving hours is kept at 3 hours.

Some things that we would like to do is whale watching, mountain scene, rainforest scene, glaciers and attractions that we should not miss!

Please do recommend us a driving itinerary as we are quite lost at the moment! :D

Hi,

Don't worry mate. One of the DEs will pick you up and drive you if you are tired. BTW how are you fixed for jocks and socks?

Cheers,

Will it be better for me to book the hotels in advance? I do know that it is not the peak period, so i'm just wondering if i can have flexiblity of choosing a hotel on the day itself or better to book in advance?

yes, book all your accommodation now - sooner the better.

Wanaka/Q'town will be packed with the ski crowds, Chch, Franz, Aoraki has very limited accommodation.

If your travel insurance won't cover you for bungee and skydiving then you have no insurance. Everything is done at your own risk. And there is no suing in NZ - so if anything does go wrong, your family back home won't be making millions.

If it makes you feel any better, you are more likely to be hit by lightening or run over on the street than suffer an injury by doing extreme sports in NZ.

In fact you will be covered to a limited extent by NZ's ACC scheme, which covers everybody in NZ, not only citizens. You will be treated in a hospital in NZ at no charge, but will not be repatriated home or have any treatment after you leave NZ.

You haven't allowed any time to visit the Glaciers as your days 2 & 3 are very full already!! Otherwise you itinerary is as our reisdent Expert, Wanaka Lakes, recommended.
