Did the Christchurch airport sustain any damage from the earthquake and is the TranzAlpine Train running out of Christchurch?

The airport is operating but according to the official website the trains will not operate before the end of next week due to the need to keep the (single track) lines available for relief supplies: tranzscenic.co.nz/promotions/promotions.aspx…

As above, the airport is in full operation and many people are bipassing christchurch by flying into Christchurch airport, then taking a coach to other destinations. the rest of NZ and even many of the outskirts af Chrischurch is unscathed. The tranz alpine will begin again 01 March

The Airport is operating as normal, no structural damage, and many extra flights going from and coming to Christchurch. The tranzalpine website says it has been suspended until the 4 March. You can follow updates on

tranzscenic.co.nz
