An eatery open in Christchurch on Xmas Day?

Hello folks,

I will be in Christchurch on Christmas day with my parents and am trying to find somewhere for lunch. Partly due the the earthquake, I am having trouble finding somewhere that is open. There is a website showing what has re-opened after the quake, but , so far , they are telling me that they are closed Xmas day. Does anyone know of a pub or restaurant that might be open?

Thanks

Craig

Hello Craig :)

are you hoping for a traditional Christmas dinner? ... or just an enjoyable lunch somewhere?

WanakaLakes - I had in mind a pub that might serve roast or similar. But we are really just looking for an enjoyable lunch somewhere.

Try one of the Speights Ale houses. It's not cafe, neither is it "fine dining" just upmrket pub food.

I'll check out any I'm "passing" - just checked out the Casino "in the interests of research" and sadly they'll be closed on Xmas day.
