Getting to Curio Bay

Hi all

I've decided Curio Bay is the place I want to see the most, but I won't have a car. So, from Invercargill, is there a way to get to Curio Bay without having a car? From what I can see online there aren't any buses/coaches in the area.

Is it doable to walk from Invercargill over a few days or just hitchhike? How busy is the road going there?

Thanks for your help!

Are you staying in hostels? often it is the best way to catch a ride - get a lift from someone in the hostel.

The roads should be fairly busy with local farming and tourist traffic.

Do take care - hitching is fairly safe, however there are still idiots about, even in NZ.

Best of luck :)
