I've seen a lot of posts alluding to this question but many seem to be more borderline season-wise, whereas we will be travelling this way in the first week of December. I have read a lot of cautionary advice regarding the Milford road, which I do not take lightly. However, I have also read a lot about the great natural beauty of the drive, and the luxury of stopping off as you like (particularly recommended in NZFrenzy guide book). Given this, ideally I would really love to have the experience of driving this route - but I am not careless - would TA advise against to be on the safe side or in summer is the route likely to be safer and more navigable for tourists? (and staying in Te Anau rather than Queenstown)
Also if it has any influence on your response - we are from the UK so accustomed to driving on the left!
Thanks in advance for your help :)Edited: 14 March 2014, 10:16
