We visited the beautiful Queenstown and encountered an unpleasant experience with this tour company called Real Journeys. We wrote an email letter to them and until today have not received an response. Should we pursue this?
We traveled with you on Tuesday 05 June 2007 from Queenstown and joined your Milford Sound Cruise. It was a tour that left us with a bad taste when we think of your Real Journeys company name.
Driver: “Are you on this bus? Why don’t you get up?”
This is how I was greeted by your driver Keith of bus no. 1647. There was no cheery good morning from your supposedly ‘friendly and professional staff’.
Driver: “We have to get going. Why don’t you go back to the hotel and look for your wife”.
Our bus 1647 took off with my wife and I onboard. The digital clock in front of Crown Plaza Hotel read 6.55am exactly. This was the time stated in your brochure for the start time: 6.55am; so my wife and I did not delay your tour, not even for one minute.
If every minute of time is so important and your staff has to ensure they are on time for everything, please enlighten me why the following incidents happened during our tour.
a) 7.04 am: the bus arrived at Wakatipu View and we waited until 7.10 am for another guest. Six minutes of our time wasted.
b) 7.17 am: The bus stopped to look for a copy of the newspapers for your driver. Is this a scheduled stop? One minute of our time wasted.
c) 7.19 am: A small van arrived with another load of customers for the bus. Why did we have to wait for them if they were late? Two minutes of our time wasted.
d) 9.55 am: We were told to be back on the bus by 9.50 am; the bus left at 9.55 am as your driver was chatting with his friend. Five minutes of our time wasted.
e) 5.24pm: We arrived at Manapoori and waited to pick up two guests from your Doubtful Sound cruise. The bus left at 5.20 pm. Six minutes of our time wasted.
f) 7.41pm: The bus arrived at your Queenstown office. Your brochure stated 7.30pm return time. Eleven minutes of our time wasted.
Yesterday was the first day of our tour in Queenstown and we thought we had chosen the best tour company; it is sad that your driver proved us wrong."
