Driving after 5.30 pm in winter in Glenorchy

Hi folks,

We are doing a horse-riding at High Country horses in Glenorchy on 19 July at 2.30 pm, ending around 5.30 pm. Does anyone know how dark it gets after 5.30 pm in Glenorchy ? Would it be too dark to drive back ? We are planning to drive back to Queenstown from Priory Rd in Glenorchy, but if it is not safe, then we will take the transport provided by High Country Horses.

I hope someone can advise. Thanks !

Pitch dark. Could be snow and ice on road. I suggest you take the transport offered if you are concerned.

It will be dark but the road is pretty good. If there has been snow, then it will be difficult. If there has not been snow, the road is unlikely to be terribly icy in the early evening. Just take it easy on the windy bits that could be icy.

Thank you very much.

Will book the transport.

Too scared to drive in the dark and maybe snow.
