Welcome to the form Dan :)

A great plan - just be aware there will be thousands of others vying for the same few positions.

best read up here http://www.nzski.com/employment/faq.jsp

and get as much practical experience you can now so you are prepared,

Applications close Feb and Mar 2015 - keep your eye on the websites to ensure you don't miss the deadline.

Best of luck :)

Hey,

Im not fussed on working on the actual slopes (although it would be my favoured option), im just talking any sort of work within the town whether it be bar work, hospitality, food etc etc.

Im guessing ill just have to jump on a job search site a few months prior to when im planning on going.

Cheers.

If you're flexible about what kind of work you want to do you should be able to get something. eg restaurants often have trouble getting enough kitchen hands. But accommodation can be really hard to get, especially affordable accommodation. If you can find a hotel job that comes with staff accommodation, jump at it.

If you have enough money saved, another option would be a work/stay arrangement at a hostel. That's where they give you a free bunk in exchange for a couple of hours work per day, leaving you free to spend most of the day on the slopes. If you've got your own gear and a season pass, and enough money saved for food and shuttles, that would be an affordable way to spend a winter in Queenstown.

For on-field jobs, this is the site: www.nzski.com/employment/NZSki-jobs.jsp Recruitment starts in February.

Daniel, I'm also thinking of doing the same thing! Absolutely no idea where to start! Do you know when the best time to go is?

All info welcome!

Thanks,

Levi :)
