Well Done Stewart Island Flights

We've just booked our flights from Invercargill to Oban and were very pleased to be able to book at a senior discounted rate.We were quite surprised to find this offered because we haven't found many places in NZ offering senior discounts.

Hanmer Springs Hot Pools comes to mind as one place doing this but I really can't think of any other attractions or transport.

It wasn't a huge amount but every little helps as they say.So --well done to this company.

In NZ senior citizens over 65 years of age are given a 'Super Gold Card' which serves as an identity card for over 65. (very useful for women who spend so much time trying to look young then get asked their age when they only look fifty or so)

check out

http://www.supergold.govt.nz/directory/

for all companies who offer discounts to holders of Super gold card. It isnt just government departmens, but also bussines partners.

When making a booking, ask if they offer a discount for over 65 yo.

some companies (not many) look at the word 'Senior Citizen' and will offer a discount only to 'NZ Citizens' suggesting that over seas visitors are not 'Citizens'.

Doent hurt to ask

Hi Coaster, I did ask Stewart Island flights if the discount applied only to New Zealanders but was told it applied to all over 60's. So both my husband and I got the senior rate.
