Independent kayaking in southern South Island?

Few years ago we rented kayaks for few hours in the Abel Tasman, it was nice experience and change of activity. I wonder if something similar could be done in the southern part of South Island. We'd be travelling between Te Anau-Milford Sound, Queenstown and Wanaka.

thank you.

Hi Boleslav

Guided kayak trips are available in Te Anau, Milford Sound, Queenstown and Wanaka.

You are also able to hire a kayak for a few hours of independent kayaking at Lake Wanaka, and possibly some of the other locations.

In Milford, kayakers are often joined by friendly dolphins :)
