Accomodation required for work training course

I'm being sent up to the Gold Coast for a 5 day training course in Burleigh Heads in July.

My company is paying of course, so I'm after a 4 star+ Hotel or Apartment, preferably in Broadbeach as there doesn't seem to be all that much in Burleigh Heads itself. Work will pay for a taxi to get me to the course daily.

I'm short of money - so I need something that is close to shops and cheap places to eat, rather than having to be restricted in eating in a hotel restaurant every night. I won't have a car, so I need to be able to be walking distance. A supermarket near by would also be great, but not essential.

Can someone recommend a good place. Obviously I'm not up there to see theme parks and the like - but a nice view on the beach would be good after training all day.

Hi.

If you company is paying, stick it to them good!

I would suggest the Sofitel Broadbeach, or the Conrad Jupiters hotel and casino.

The Sofitel is on the beach side, next to an avenue with lots of little places. Good fish and chips for less than $10, and a Maccas as well.

Conrad Jupiters has just renovated their rooms, and they have 6 restaurants, bars and a food court. Cheap eats can be had in the gaming area (free to enter of course)

You couldn't go wrong with any of the accommodation that surrounds the broadbeach mall area. There is heaps to choose from! The Sofitel is 5 star and very nice. It is above the oasis shopping centre which has numerous restaurants and bars and a woolworths.

There are heaps of restaurants to choose from in the broadbeach mall area for all budgets.

Mantra Broadbeach on the park might be a suitable apt style hotel and there is the freshwater poin resort apts which are across the hwy from broadbeach so you won't get an oceanview but there are water and skyline views.

TIP: If you aren't going to be in your room during the day to appreciate the ocean views then opt for a view of the skyline as it is really spectacular at night wheras you can't see the beach at night.

Hope this is helpful

What is your budget from work?

Personally, I would prefer to stay in Burleigh Heads and close to where I was doing the course.

Just roll out of bed and there you are sort of thing. Not have to worry about cabs and traffic etc. Although it is only about 5 mins between Broady and Burleigh on a good run.

Theres heaps of good accom in Burleigh as well as restaurants and bars.

Check out Burleigh Swell and Gemini Court for example.

I also agree with B/B about Burleigh Swell Apartments.

If you do want to stay at Broadbeach then just look at www.wotif.com.au under Queensland for an overview of what is available for your budget.

Personally, I like Le Grande Apartments at Broadbeach. Two minutes to shops/cafe/restaurants and directly across the road from the beach.

Oh, you wouldn't be happy at the moment EM with La Grande!

They have knocked down the old house on the northern side and are in the process of building boutique apartments next door.

It will be nice when they're finished tho.
