Cap off family holiday on Gold Coast

We are heading to Qld in November 2011, staying mostly Coolum way but would like to finish off our holiday somewhere closer to Surfers/Brisbane. As a small family, we really prefer holiday rentals with own catering and pool if possible. Would like something close to the beach - not too fussy - anything in the $200 a night or close region?

Try the Talisman in Broadbeach or if you want Surfers then try No.1 The Esplanade. Should fit the budget.

Not sure when in November you will be visiting but perhaps bear in mind that schoolies descend on Surfers Paradise from 18 November onwards. If you have young children (and even if you don't) you would want to be well away from Surfers Paradise if you are here at that time.

If that is the case then Burleigh Heads might be a better option.

You mention children and the Gold Coast, then you have to give Paradise Resort a quick look.

It's in Surfers and depends time of year re crowds, but have a look...

We have just arrived back from the Gold Coast and stayed here http://www.realholidays.com.au/holidays/gold+coast/qld/miami/holiday+rentals/403590095

It was great, self-catering, two fabulous pools, the apartment had everything you needed except Linen which you can hire easily enough. Cheap rates but the apartment was fine, we miss it. A little away from the hurly burly of Surfers but not too far away.

Hi, we stayed at Paradise Centre Appartments http://www.paradisecentre.com.au/ for 9 days in Nov 2010 with a one-year old and 4-year old and loved it! We stayed in a two bedroom ocean view appartment for around AU$130 per night (booked through a website accessable if you purchase the "Entertainment Book")

Great location - beach accross the road, shops in the same complex (including a grocery store), heated pools, full kitchen (and laundry!) and access to a BBQ. Pretty close (approx 5 min walk with kids and pushchairs) to major bus routes to theme parks etc. We are heading back there next week!
