Where is the best place to hug a koala ?

Hello everyone :)

We will be visiting Gold Coast and Brisbane tis July!

Where would be the best place to have a koala hug and photos taken?

Which would u recommend?

Crumbin Wildlife Sanctuary / Lone Pine Santuary / Paradise Country

Any chance for a Koala hug in Dreamworld? if yes then I shall skip the above.

Another question!

If I will to choose 1 theme park, which is the best recommended?

Thanks!

Cheers

SJ

At Dreamworld, you can cuddle a koala: dreamworld.com.au/Wildlife/… but it comes at a cost, if I remember correctly. Best to contact Dreamworld directly for more specific information. If you have Facebook, you can send them a message.

I think Dreamworld is the best, if you like thrill rides, but also want to see animals like koalas, kangaroos, etc. However, the VIP Pass: https:/…combo-passes.aspx does not cover Dreamworld, but it does cover unlimited entry to Movieworld, Seaworld and Wet 'n' Wild. If you are going to Dreamworld, you'll need to look at their website for tickets/passes.

Good luck with your planning and have a GREAT time on the GC! :)

I don't think hugging them around the head is a good idea. Their body tends to flop around a bit if you do that. It may make them angry.

Hugging them by the legs would leave their mouth close to some sensitive body parts....depending on whether you held them upright or upside down.

So hugging them around the middle is definately the best option.

Very funny foxy....

If you want to spend the day seeing Australian Wildlife and hug a koala and you are staying on the Gold Coast, make sure you visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is in Brisbane, and is excellent, but you'd have to travel to Brisbane for the day.

We visited Lone Pine and my husband was able to hold a koala and have some pictures taken- at a price of course. You can also touch many kangaroos and feed wallabies. We went to Currumbin but did not have the same touchy-feely experience. The kangaroos had joeys, so the park personnel would not allow us to get close. We did see some koalas in an enclosure that were moving around a lot and entertained us for some time. Had to take a boat to Lone Pine and a bus to Currumbin.

just remember they are wild animals and often unpredictable. They might look cute and cuddly but can get angry and scratch and bite.

I remember going to the Lone Pine when I was a young girl. Brings back lovely memories

Thank u everyone for your suggestions & advsie :)

In the end I decided on Lone Pine and it was wonderful!!!!

We get to hold the koala for picture of cos for a price which I think its worth the experience!!!

The park is nice and I enjoyed the sheep dog show and closing up with the kangaroos!!!

It was a great experience for us!!!
