holiday with kids

Hello,

We are from Perth and we are thinking of taking our 3 kids to the Gold coast in July for the first time. Their ages are 10, 7 and 6. We are planning on taking them to the theme parks but unsure as to which would suit. My younger one is scared of rides (although he doesnt mind some of the slower kiddie ones) I dont want to spend money purchasing tickets and at the end we wont be able to do anything. Any ideas, suggestions as to which theme parks are best for us would be great. Thanks

Sea World would be a definite - Less about the rides, and more about the animals, so, can't go wrong there!

Dreamworld is good because they have a kids section, while also the most major thrill rides, plus animals, so, it kind of does cater for everyone.

If you're going in July (and unless you see a good deal now or before your trip), it might be worth waiting until the new VIP Passes (unlimited entry into Movieworld, Seaworld and Wet 'n' Wild until June the following year, so, if you're prepared to wait, it'll be valid until June 2015 - be aware that they've released all sorts of different passes now, not just the VIP Pass, so, definitely compare around when booking) and Dreamworld deals come out, which is (if they stick by what they've done previously) usually around May/June to get a good deal. But, definitely keep your eye out online for deals, as occasionally, they offer reduced price tickets.

One thing though: It might be good to check the height restrictions of some of the rides your kids might be interested in going on. Nothing worse than being excited to find out they're not allowed on! You can find these details on the websites of each of the theme parks.

I think Seaworld is the only one which will keep all of them happy.

Many kids find the water at wet n' wild a bit chilly at that "cold" time of the year

Hi,

I wouldn't worry about Movie World as this is aimed more towards older kids & mainly rides & rollercoasters.

Would definetly consider Dreamworld & Sea World.

Have you also thought about Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary?
