Would we be better off touring South Island in October or November, ignoring price?
In theory it will be warmer in November, probably drier too. But I read somewhere that the weather is often better in October. We're not looking for beach weather, just a good proportion of dry days, blue skies if possible, and reasonably comfortable temperatures.
What about other things, though? Wouldn't wildlife and gardens be better seen in November, and more facilities be open?
