Tour top end in 2 weeks

Need some advise.we are in our 60s fit and considering flying to Darwin, hiring a car,and driving to Kakadu,Cathrin gorge ,etc.

Never been at the top end before, but were told we can cover most popular sights in Two weeks.never been keen in conducted tours as we found by travelling extensively around the world by car hire ,we tended to "find"interested places off the beaten tracks.need advise as to places to see and accommodation for 2weeks travel.

Thank you.Nick & Dianne.

Hi Nick and Dianne

Yes in two weeks you can get a good look at the Top End

As a rough guide you could do

- 4 nights Kakadu

- 2-3 nights Katherine

- 1-2 nights Mataranka

-1-2 nights Litchfield

And the rest in Darwin. Or if you are planning to hire a 4WD and are confident driving off road I would add a day or 2 to Kakadu and a day to Litchfield.

Hope this helps

Oh I forgot to ask what time of year? This will highly impact accessibility for a lot of places. Also if looking at June/July/August you will need to book accommodation well in advance (and be seated when you check the prices).

Ok - you should have no access issues in September.
