Field of Lights viewing (June 2018)

Is the only option/access to book a tour to see the Field of Lights at Uluru or is it accessible for free? If the tour through the Resort is the only option, would you book tour 1 (at the earlier time slot) or tour 2 which is later? Is the Star Pass (dune deck view) worth the extra $$$? Advice much appreciated.

The Field of Light is at Yulara and not Uluru. it is run by the resort so their tours are the only option.

If you're buying the pass it's really up to you as to which time you go (depends on your other plans and tours). The star pass gets you some drinks and snacks as well as a good view from above.

Personally I though the star pass was worth it for the view from the top of the dune - the canapés and drinks were ok but not what I would base my decision on.
