My mother (70), my son (12), my daughter (16) and I (woman, 45) will arrive in Alice Springs on Mon 30 June 2014, late afternoon. Our plan is as follows:
Tuesday - Explore Alice Springs, possibly:
- School of the Air
- Flying Doctors Visitor's Centre
- Reptile Centre
- Kangaroo Sanctuary
- (Evening) Attend the Starlight Didgeridoo
Wednesday - Drive to Uluru and participate in dot painting course in afternoon. Stay overnight in Outback Pioneer Hotel. Perhaps Camel ride at Sunset.
Thursday - Do activities at the Resort in morning e.g. spear and boomerang throwing ahead of meeting Wayoutback "Wallaby" Tour (4 days/3 nights). Walk around base of Uluru and watch sunset from tour's camp site.
Friday - Sunrise at Uluru and then off to Olgas with tour, overnight camp site
Saturday - Kings Canyon, overnight camp site.
Sunday - MacDonnell Ranges and back to Alice Springs, overnight Alice Springs.
Monday - Explore more of Alice Springs (what we didn't see/do last Tuesday)
Tuesday - Fly out (early afternoon flight)
Any comments on this? Are we spending too long at Uluru itself (1.5 days)?
Are we spending too long in Alice Springs (2.5 days but 4 overnights due to limited flight times)
I'm keen to book this very soon so would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks in advance,
Kim travelling with my older Mum and two teenage kids
