Food shopping

Hi, we are traveling up to palm cove later this year and are wanting to know the best specialty food stores for groceries to shop at such as butcher, fruit and veg, cheese, deli seafood etc.

We would much prefer to support the local stores in the area- out to Cairns rather then just going through Coles.

Food are all nice and people are very friendly. If you get to palm gove you are must go to the best little spa. Wela spa: nails Beauti and massage. The girls there, they so lovely and they do the best job. My husband and I we did Pedicare and body massage. It is the best in town. They do very hight good service and good Quality job as modern spa. :)))

Palm Cove has a couple of small supermarkets. No need to travel too far. There's many cafés, restaurants,

shops plus a tavern & new surf club. A butcher is opening soon. The nearest Coles is at Clifton Beach

After arrival go to Rusty's markets in Cairns this is fresh local produce mostly from the farmer and it's an Aladins Cave of tropical foods. There is a boutique supermarket in Palm Cafe though Smithfield would be bigger. Sunday markets in Port Douglass are good. Rusty's is only open Thur-Sun, Queensland allows the sale of frozen seafood to sold as fresh! Always ask if it has been frozen and is it local? A lot of Barramundi is imported!

we used a great little local service

pleaseshopforme.com.au

we shopped online with them, they then shopped our groceries, delivered them into our accommodation and unpacked them away into the fridge and pantry before we arrived : )

It was so nice not to have to go shopping as soon as we arrived.

Clifton Beach is very close & has a big Coles. Palm Cove has a couple of convenience stores plus a butcher but mainly cafes, restaurants & clothing stores. Trinity Beach is not in walking distance & only has a small IGA & not much else..its a good 2 hour walk! It's past Clifton Beach & Kewarra Beach. No need to go a few suburbs further to Smithfield when the Coles at Clifton is just as good. Cairns City & Port Douglas are not close by.
