great barrier reef cruise or whitehaven cruise

Wondering if there's any difference between the great barrier reef cruise and the Whitehaven beach cruise other than the obvious difference that one's mainly on a pontoon and one's an island..

Will there be a big difference say, in the reefs/marine life/activities?

If I am opting for the whitehaven cruise, is it still worthwhile to take also great barrier reef cruise on another day? I have 2 full days on Airlie beach so am looking at itineries for 2 days..

Thanks!

Whitehaven is a magnificentl beach but is not near the GBR as such. You will have to do a GBR cruise to snorkle and see the coral. If you have the time definitely do both trips.

The GBR will be a long full day, but Whitehaven can be done as a half day.
