How warm is the sea in December?

Hi,

We are going to spend a week in Coles Bay in mid December and I was wondering how warm will the sea be around that time. Swimable? Thank you

This says it's about 14 to 16 C at present and it changes very slowly.

Hi Speigas

Tasmanians are hardly souls. The water in December is swimable to Tasmanians but it is never warm. It's not a problem if the temperature out of the water is warm and there isn't a stiff breeze blowing! That's not an excuse not to go in though. Top tip: don't walk in, jump in. It's more fun that way :-)
