Good for 2 weeks ?

Hi

My husband and I will be in Noosa for 2 weeks next March. We are planning not to have a hire car for this time. We are looking at a ground floor Lakeside Apartment at Skippers Cove. Has anyone been here, and is it good for a 2 week stay?

Also, can we get around, including grocery shopping, without a car

Thanks

Lorraine

Skippers Cove is a favourite of ours - as is Driftwood next door. See my reply re Las Rias - the question of car/groceries would be applicable to these places as well. They are just across they way from each other :-)

It is a good spot, however a little isolated without a car, unless of course you like walking. There is a bus stop just nearby on Noosa Parade so getting around shouldn't be a problem for you. Enjoy

Many thanks,

We are really looking forward to our visit to Noosa.

We love walking - and also being a bit isolated - we actually live in a renovated barn in the middle of a field ! If we feel it's too hot to walk once we arrive, we can always change our mind about the car, but planning on enjoying some of Noosa's nice restaurants so will need to do that walking !!

Thanks again for giving your time

lol Lorraine

Skippers Cove is not that isolated. There's resorts all around you and lots to watch on the river. I thing surfoz means it's not close to the main shopping areas/beaches. There are some small small shops at Quamby Place, just a few minutes walk across the bridge, and it's about a 5 min drive into Hastings Street, the main beach area and restaurants.

We have stayed at Skippers on 2 occasions. Once on the road side in one of the 2 bedroom apartments, and once on the river side on the beach in a larger appartment with another couple. we have found it to be great, although we were in Noosa in Sept, and found comparable accomodation cheaoer this time. we allways have a rental car, as there is a lot to do around the Sunshine Coast. Skippers is within walking distance of a lot of cafes but the super markets are a little way off especially if carrying groceries.
