Booking a wedding with First Choice, BEWARE!!!!!!!

My Son and his Fiancee booked their wedding at the Olympic lagoon Resort in Cyprus for May next year through First Choice Weddings as soon as the brochure came out in April. They were told the date and time by the Travel Agent so Family and friends went ahead and booked the Hotel. 6 weeks later they were told they cannot have that date now or any other whilst we are there. After a lot of calls and heartache they agreed on a different Venue only now to be told they cannot have the reception there either as they are not getting married at the Hotel. They now have to find a local restaurant for the reception which is all extra cost even though we have all paid for all inclusive at the Hotel. We cannot believe that they don't arrange the date formally before any bookings are taken. We have been told we can have a refund or go to a different Hotel free of charge but not all families have booked with them so they have no comeback. What should be the happiest time of their lives has been turned into a nightmare through total incompetence. With hindsight we should have used a proper Wedding Planning Company instead of a Travel Agent. PLEASE take care if your planning to book at wedding in the future we would hate this to happen to anyone else,
