The railway line from Algeciras to Madrid runs through Ronda. So if you wish to go to La Linea from Ronda then take the train and when you get to Algeciras station walk across the street to the bus station and take the local bus round the bay to La Linea.

An alternative is to get off the train at San Roque and then use a taxi to La Linea. You can find train times using the RENFE web site and choose the option Find all stations.

There is an overnight bus from La Linea listed for DAIBUS web or you can use the railway or go to Malaga or even Marbella for more options.

DAIBUS is:

Thanks Cadiz....Is it too late in the day if we arrive at 6:05 in Algeciras considering the bus ride and short walk across the border....I still can't figure out if there is a bus from Ronda to La Linea which may be easier and a little earlier.

too late in the day for ?

The local bus from Algeciras San Bernardo bus statiion to La Linea goes several times during the day and you can look at times on :

siu.ctmcg.es/en/horarios_lineas_tabla.php…

journey takes around 45 mins although there is a faster direct bus that should work :

…ctmcg.es/en/docs/pdf/horarios/xlinea_16.pdf

Forget a bus from Ronda to La Linea as I think train is nicer. A bus would mean going to Malaga or Marbella and changing. No direct bus.

Anyway see :

Cadiz...It looks like there is a bus from San Roque to La Linea...It also looks closer and more convenient...Is that so???

We are thin king about staying at The AC Mariott in La Linea and walking across to arrange a tour of Gibraltar for the next day...What do you think??

There may be a 'schedule' from San Roque rail station ( ESTACIÓN DE SAN ROQUE ) into the town which is a few kms away then a further bus to La Linea but I have not taken this myself. So cannot advise you.

AC hotel is not too far a walk to the border or bus station and once you process through the border you will find tours immediately. Maybe you will feel like walking into the town and its shopping street first before going up the rock. The walk from the border to the centre is about 30 minutes or less.
