Nearby Tube park and ride

Hello. Hoping to book to go to HP tour in the morning then need to park the car and get the tube into Central London for some shopping. Can anyone recommend somewhere to park near a tube station? We're looking at leaving around 1:30pm and returning at around 8/9pm before driving back to South Wales. I've looked at loads of different websites, but they tend to presume you're a native Londoner. Any help appreciated. Thanks X

quickest way is to park at watford junction station get a travelcard which will allow you to take the overground to london euston then underground to shop in london anywhere you like and upon returning take the m25 then m4 to south wales.

To save time you should take one of the fast London Midland services that usually run from platform 9. 20 minutes as against 55 on the all stations Overground service.

The journey from studio to station by car shouldn't take more than 15 minutes but use Hempstead Road rather than St Albans Road which has bus lanes and a lot of traffic lights.

Thanks for the information, but I looked at this option and the TFL website shows that Watford Junction is outside Zone 6 - is this correct? If so, how much will the adult Travelcard be? Thanks.

£15.20 - this includes the return journey from Watford Junction as well as unlimited travel in zones 1-6.

If you are travelling as a family group you will almost certainly get a discount depending on size of family/group and ages of children - the ticket clerk will be able to work it out. For example, two adults and two children ages 5-15 would cost £30.40 - in total.

An alternative would be to drive to Stanmore where there is a large car park (no guarantee of a space mind) and take the Jubilee line into London. It's in zone 5 so a one day off peak Travelcard would cost £8.50 per adult but you should add the cost of parking (£4.50) plus petrol costs and time.

Stanmore it is then - we're classed as 4 adults, so the other options are far too expensive. Thanks to everyone who answered.

Four adults from Watford Junction would be £30.40. It's a 'Groupsave' fare - four go for the price of two if you all travel together.
