Somewhere to stay for a weekend of self indulgence.

I've been charged with organising this year's anniversary weekend away at the end of March.

Having settled on the Hunter Valley, I would love some advice on accommodation.

From reading reviews, I like the look of Spicers Vineyards Estate, and Tower Lodge.

The plan for the weekend is relaxation, wine tasting, fine dining and some heavy duty bushwalking, hopefully followed by a massage.

Any input on either of these places or any alternative suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Spicer rates highly but i know Mia had somewhere else to recc...

LOL..does it have to be the Hunter because Wolgan Valley runs rings around anywhere we've stayed in the BMs or Hunter

Thanks for the suggestion GW.

Wolgan Valley looks superb - maybe some other time.

This weekend will be all about the grape ;-)

I haven't been yet, but have heard good things about Leaves & fishes.

For an anniversary would have thought it would have been about other things besides grapes ;-)

Looks fabulous - definitely a contender.

Mia, at our age we need some alternative amusements to entertain ourselves during the ever increasing recovery times. ;-)

I have been to Leaves and Fishes and can highly recommend it. The service, food and atmosphere are great. I live in n\Newcastle which is close to the Hunter Valley and I have heard great praise for this restaurant by people who have held small weddings or other cleebrations there. Hope you all enjoy our Hunter Valley!!
