music in Prague churches - free?

Please advise where I can see the schedule (if any) of free concerts in the churches, or church music, maybe, to see the gorgeous chrches and listen to the music.

Thanks for your advices!

We were walking along Smetenova near the Charles Bridge around 5 PM when a guy with a flyer urged us to come to the church behind him for music. When walking around Prague, you will see the schedules for music on playbills outside churches. You won't have any trouble finding church music. Prague is a very social city.

There are no regular concerts in Prague churches that would be free of charge.

The paid ones, which cater to the tourist flock, are usually of a very low quality. But most tourists apparently don't notice it anyway as they don't have a clue.

Sometimes you might be able to find somebody doing some organ practice, and if he or she is good, it can be very impressive. But of course that is totally at random ...

But it is true that the music generally on offer is not of top standard - for the same price and more comfort you can get a full-length opera at the State Opera House or the National Theatre, performed by professional musicians.
