Best way to get from Cesky Krumlov to budapest?

I am getting confused as to the best way and fastest way to get to Budapest by train from CK.

It had been suggested on the forum to take a shuttle bus to Linz and get a fast train from there.

On the map, Linz seems to be not the direction that we are headed. It looks like we will have to go through Vienna anyway to get to Budapest.

Would we be better to take shuttle bus to Vienna or is Linz closer so we would get the train sooner?

Thank you for any help!

The trains only run in certain directions, it may seem to you that Linz is not on your way, but that is exactly where it is........if you take a shuttle from Cesky Krumlov, you will get dropped off at Linz railway station, and there are a number of direct trains to Budapest (Railjet).

You can of course take the shuttle all the way to Vienna, but there is no advantage in doing that.
