it is our first visit to Prague we would like to use the local transport could anyone advise us how to get to the Hotel Le Palais?
If travelling light I would take the 119 bus to Dejvicka and then the green line metro to IP Pavlova, probably a 5 minute or so walk from there.
If I had a load of luggage I would take a taxi or one of the Airport shuttle services.
You'd also need to change metro's, can take the green line to museum and then the tram 11 from behind the museum to Bruselska gets you a couple of mins closer..
Or easier just take the AE to Main Station and then red line to IP Pavlova..
I'd take an airport taxi and then use public transport once here...
Alternatively, 119 bus to Dejvicka, then green line Metro to Namesti Miru and after that it is a 10 minute walk. Great hotel by the way, in a really nice area.
I agree with post 3 - a much nicer walk from Namesti Miru than from IP Pavlova - but you'll need a map of Prague to know where you are going.
thanks for the information .
Does anyone know of a website l can download in English of Pragues; train, tram and bus routes ?
I can recommend to take taxi from the airport to the hotel Le Palais. Walk there from metro is not wery comfortable with a luggage.
Taxi will be more expensive than a prebooked shuttle at fixed price.....
if you are brave and have a decent colour printer you can print the map of tram and metro stops from the dpp site...I've done it on A4 paper, A3 would probably be better, but still not bad:)
http://www.dpp.cz/dopravni-schemata/ - top row the right colum Metro a tramvaje (zastavky),
Been to Prague four times. We agree with Hanna. We did the same: took a cab. With one check bag and one carry on each we did not want to drag those on cobble stones.
