Hi

A 'Moot Point' is a point open to debate, or that is irrelevant.

It is a moot point inasmuch as the chances of a passport being checked by an official on this journey are extremely slim to none, but as mentioned above it is illegal to travel without a valid travel document.

So to the OP - you can take your chances if you want, just make sure you keep your nose clean otherwise :)

Actually im living in budapest i just have to renew my residence permit. today i went to immigration office and they gave me 3 months residence permit until my actual residence permit card ready. and the woman said ' if you want you can try but it's forbidden to travel with temporary residence permit." also she said there are no border controls you can try but still risky.

i dont know what will happen if some czech controler asks my documents while im going back to Budapest. yes it's risky and depends on my luck i think.

I wouldn't travel to Prague then - you don't want to risk messing up your residence permit application. Chances are that no one would ask you anything, but there is the posibility.
