Rough Daily Costs

Hi there

I am wanting to get a rough indication of meals/drinks/spending per day. Coming from NZ it is going to need to be "lighter" rather than heavier in the spending.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

1500kc per person per day will let you live reasonably well but you could easily manage 1000kc per day or even less as long as you eat away from the main tourist areas.

If you get away from the center, food can be really cheap. Beer is cheaper that Coke!

Standard Czech food is reasonably priced..soup, some cabbage with dumplings etc.

one suggestion is pick up some bread, sandwich meat, cheese, wine at the local grocery store and head up to Letna Park for a picnic...as well, there are beer kiosk in the park....you can simply enjoy the day overlooking central Prague

Does this request include your hotel stay?

We had a budget of £400-roughly 12, 000 kc for the 2 of us for 6 days. We went margianlly over with 2 tours and presents. If we hadn't of done this, we would easily have been within budget as food is inexpensive. Buy your soft/cold drinks at a local shop-lass than 50p-or 15-20kc. We had lunch and evening meals out eah day and never paid more than 800kc for 2 courses and a couple of alcoholic drinks. We walked everywhere but the public transport is cheap. Therefore, depending on your expectations, Prague can be very cheap...2000kc for 2 per day was ample (minus accommodation of course).

We ate at the restaurant mentioned in the message just prior to this, and it wasn't even 20 dollars american, but that is without alcohol; for a full dinner and beverage . prague is cheap for dining

Comming from New Zealand, you'll be happy with the prices here. Compared to NZ, Czech rep. is awfully cheap. I've just come back from NZ and it was the most expensive country I have ever been to.
