1. Re: Christmas markets ?

Xmas markets usually start 4 weeks before xmas....some continue for 12 days after Xmas....the biggest one is in the Old Town Square, which is central Prague.

You can stay anywhere you want..Old town square (or any other markets like Namesti Miru, Namesti Republiky) are easy to reach.

I agree with Tilly. Weve just come back from Prague and the Old Town Christmas market was the best. Fantastic atmosphere and amazing people. The markets are spread out and lovely to look around at the night time when all lit up.... Huge Christmas Tree in the middle of the markets too :-)

also consider the 2 hour train ride to Dresden, one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe.

atmosphere, food, drink is great in Prague..(actual shopping-not so much in comparison to Dresden or Vienna)
