Tipping shared ride from Prague to Cesky Krumlov

Hello,

We will be taking the CK shuttle from Prague to CK and was wondering what the tipping etiquette is in this case. I searched in the forum but only tipping taxi drivers came up. Since this is a longer (and more expensive) drive, what is the standard, if there is one at all?

Thank you.

10% of the price of the ticket, but I'd probably tip 200kc./person.

For shared shuttle the charge is 900 crowns per person...so 100 crowns is more than enough.

They are charging enough in the first place, so any loose change you might have, if anything.

as someone just said on the 'other; forum

if you're traveling to a country where its customary to tip, you should tip. If its not customary, regardless of where you're from, you shouldn't tip. If you can't afford or don't want to follow local customs when traveling, then don't travel.

Thank you all! Yes, I want to follow local customs; hence my question. So it seems that local customs is to tip between spare change that I may have to 100 ckz per person (or in our case 300 ckz).

Look at it this way - if you would tip a train/bus/tram driver, then give the same tip that you might give them :)

My guess would be the city or state employee receives a regular pay packet- whether or not anyone rides, whereas the driver for a private transport company, or taxi, does not...

Tipping drivers is OK if they do a service for you, help with luggage etc, but not for driving from A to B.

Whatever the driver relationship is with the company is not my problem...if the driver does not like the job he can get something else, like a tram driver's job for 15K crowns a month before tax.

100 crowns per person is an appropriate tip. Being a shuttle driver is not an easy job and tips are greatly appreciated. Generosity is a great virtue.
