1. Re: Area to stay at Prague

your question is very general and a frequent question

1. there are several current threads with the same question

2. do you have a budget? preference to chain, pension, boutique type, hostel

Prague is generally safe for a city of its size....

Prague 1 is both sides of the river -do a little research and indicate which side you would like to stay

center is fairly compact.....transit system is reliable, simple-you can choose to stay of downtown

I like Namesti Republiky (Republic Square). It is a great area for transit- trams and metro, has great shopping- the Palladium and Kotva, great restaurants and around the corner from Old Town Square, but without the drunken hoards...

You know ones you see early in the morning walking around in groups- generally around Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square? Maybe I just came across some stag parties...
