Hi, i traveled from toronto to prague too. Its best to get the euros from toronto and exchange for krouna there. one better rate on euro, krouna rate is not good in toronto. secondly left over can be easily exchanged back in toronto; also euro is accepted easily in prague. I got krouna from interchange financial @dundas square.

Plenty of ATMs. It's a very touristy place so there's everything to get tourists spend money :)

TIP: I used my TD credit card alot in prague and found the exchange rate was much much better then cash conversion. the conversion was IBS + 1.9%

Let me know if you have any other questions.

What is the point of exchanging twice..from CAD to Euro to Crown.....just use your debit card at any official ATM to get the local currency.

Euro is accepted 'somewhere' in Prague with a lousy exchange rate but not everywhere, you must have some Czech crowns.

coz cad to krouna conversion in toronto is marked up by 6-7% whereas Euro is ~1%.

euro-krouna conversion in prague is marked up by <1%. So in net a difference of 4-5%.

also, international debit withdrawals call for $5 fees every time, so withdrawing $500 is 1% fees

It just doesn't seem like it is worth the effort, unless very large sums of money are being exchanged...
