Good reasonable food you get at any Ambiente restaurant www.ambi.cz. The Kogo restaunrants are not too bad either.

Lucerna bar is very interesting, they have a night club, quite run down but real and cheap. check out their program: musicbar.iquest.cz/wwwroot/index.php…

Hi, Just returned from Prague and had fantastic time. Bars often show prices outside and we got 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine for £3 in a cellar bar. Can really recommend U Zlate Konvice restaurant in Old Town Square. It's easy to miss as there is only an entrance that looks like a public loo and goes down steps into a cellar (next to U Prince Restaurant) It has a great atmoshere with a pig roasting on a spit. Czech food, goulash, pork etc. Live music and we had such a brilliant night we stayed there all evening and had drinks at restaurant prices. Even so, the whole evening only cost £20 per head.

Beware of the outside bars in the Old Town Square, some are very expensive. Also, some bars offer local goulash at cheap prices at lunch time, we ordered some (which was delicious) but we just ordered drinks without seeing a menu - they charged really high prices for the drinks making the whole lunch quite expensive.

Have a fanastic time! - from Dronfield

We just returned from several days in Prague, and we found the food generally to be good and quite reasonably priced. As is the case in most of Europe, restaurants post their menus outside, so you can decide before you enter whether the prices are acceptable to you or not. We stayed in Mala Strana, and found several good restaurants in the area, including U Maltezsky Chrytiru (Prokopska' 10), U Modre Kachnicky I (Nebovidska' 6), David (Trziste 21) and Olympia (Vitenzna 7). Olympia is particularly "user friendly," with an extensive menu, a mix of locals and tourists, and quite reasonable prices. David is the most upscale of the list (about 2,000+ crowns for two people), but it is worth it if you want a special dinner.
